 Personal

I was born and raised here in the Upper Cumberland area, and know the region well.  After graduating high school, I joined the Air Force for a 6 year tour.  Because I specialized in the intelligence field, I was assigned to work at the National Security Agency.  The years spent in the Air Force taught me a great deal about hard work and determination. Although my military career is behind me now, I still follow the Air Force core values: Excellence, Integrity, and Service before self.

Living for 6 years in the Washington DC area left me yearning for wide open spaces and friendly southern hospitality, so I returned home to enjoy life at a slower pace.  My intense fascination with architecture and old homes made a career in real estate a natural choice for me. 

 Real Estate Career

My new career in real estate started right as the real estate bubble was collapsing.  This market is all I’ve ever known, and it might surprise you to learn that I’m glad I started my career during this time.  While agents with many years of experience have not survived this market, I have thrived and gained market share each year.

Why?

The reason I’ve survived is because I’ve never had it easy.  From day one I’ve had to adapt and overcome the obstacles of a historic market crash. I’ve had to be focused and dedicated, and learn technologies far beyond the scope of what a normal Realtor would be familiar with.  I’ve fully embraced the technologies of tomorrow and that has put me light years ahead. The result has been a marketing package unlike anything else offered in my area.

 I also hold an Associate Degree in the Arts, and speak multiple languages.

Philosophy,

 They say you can’t take business personally, but I do.  My goal is to create a Win-Win situation for everyone I deal with. I don’t believe there has to be a winner and a looser. Much more is achieved by treating all parties fairly and honestly, and everyone walking away happy.

 Hobbies, Ect.

 I have tons of interests and hobbies outside of real estate, but they generally fall into two categories: Adventure, and Creation.

  In the creation category, I’m a lampworker and jewelry designer. I also love to design clothing and to create gardens.

  In the Adrenaline/Adventure category….well, almost anything goes. If it will get your heart racing, I’m probably interested.  I love to travel, especially in other countries.  I like hang gliding, zip-lining, hiking, biking, and fast cars.

 I specialize in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee, Including Cookeville TN, Sparta TN, Livingston TN, Gainesboro TN, Rickman TN, and  Algood TN. Counties include Putnam, Jackson, Overton, White.

Looking for and buying a house can be a stressfull experience under even the best of circumstances.  Being a first time home buyer, I was not looking forward to the process and particularly the anticipated high pressure sales pitches that are so common today.  I was very, very fortunate to have met Virgina Kail on that first day.
